Tension while waiting
There are many occasions on which you have to wait: for the results of your doctor's tests, the result of an exam, whether you will be hired for the job you like so much, and so on. The period of time between the moment where you have done your part until the moment where you get to hear the outcome, can be a stressful period.
It starts with having to deal with a situation of which your personality believes you are at the mercy of other people's judgment, ánd are at the risk of having to face an outcome which is unpleasant to you, so there is a chance that the results are not what your personality is hoping for. On top of that, while you are waiting, you can do nothing anymore
to influence the results. So it comes down to having to powerlessly wait for a possible unpleasant message, and this definitely is not to your personalities liking.
The focus of your personality is always about doing and arranging things for you which have an outcome 'pleasant'. Until the moment where this outcome is guaranteed, there is tension, simply because there cán be a different outcome, one which he will have to label as 'wrong'. Preferably your personality comes into action as soon as there is a threat for unpleasantness
and attempt to minimize its effects as much as possible, preferably get rid of them altogether. However, at this moment in your process nothing has happened yet, you are in a kind of no-man's-land.
Look around you and face how others and your own personality are dealing with this kind of situations: you will hear a lot of sayings like 'I did not have much sleep, so I would be surprised if I passed', 'I did not have my day', 'it's nice but ...', 'I will look around for other things as well' and even the old 'oh well, something else will come up if this does not work' can be heard a lot, (however, look where this really comes from!).
Ultimately you simply suffer from your own personality wishes and expectations, combined with the idea of your personality that only certain outcomes are preferred. You can start there with the change: tell yourself that your personality no longer has to make things 'right' or 'nice' for you. Now it no longer matters what the outcome is, it is always 'acceptable'
and this automatically takes away a lot of stress.
Through your personality you may be able to reason why you want a certain outcome, however, this does not mean this also is 'the best' for you. Often enough while looking back on a situation you see it is a good thing that what you believed to be good for you, did not happen, and that the other thing which came in its place, turned out to be so very good
or you, you met certain people, etc. Do realize that your personality cannot 'know' what is really good for you, simply because he ultimately is not as much in charge of the plans for your life as he lets you to believe (and he focuses on very limited aspects only, for example look at the way in which he judges a new job beforehand and how broad the experience in everyday life really is. Something likewise applies for example for an unpleasant medical outcome as well. Your personality only
looks at the pain and other unpleasant aspects, whereas this often is the start of a huge step in increasing Awareness which, seen in retrospect, you would not want to have missed for the world).
Use the period of time in which you have to wait, for awareness of the role of your personality and this kind of mechanisms in this specific situation. Let go of your investment in it, and go and look for what your inner Self can offer you here, since that is the aspect which offers you the Peace and sure Knowledge you are really looking for. this, and look around on this site for more inspiration as well. And no matter what the outcome, whether your personality likes it or not, face it, see what your personality does with the feeling he sees as a result of this, and see it for what it is - which is definitely nót: a truth in itself!
